Accessible Game Design with Sa Liu
Nov. 18th, 1:30-2:30pm, Harrisburg Library
This session will explore how game designers can create games that are more accessible to people with disabilities. First, we will play Nyctophobia, which means "fear of the dark" -- a cooperative game of survival in which up to four players must work together to escape a maniacal predator chasing them in a pitch-black forest. All but one of the players play the game completely unable to see the board. The sighted player is the Hunter, who is tasked with chasing down the other, blind, players. After the game play, we will have a discussion on how to design a game that is incisive and accessible.
