Quadradius: An online board game occasionally described as "super robot space checkers." 2 players. 15+ minutes.

Race for the Galaxy: A robustly-designed card game featuring action-selection mechanics. Replay value is increased with the addition of three expansions (The Gathering Storm, Rebel Vs. Imperium, and The Brink of War). Also available via free download for Windows/Mac/Linux. 2-4 players, 1-7 with expansions. 20-60 minutes.
