Step 3 - What if I Still Can't Find the Article?

Sometimes, even after going through the steps to find an article, you may find that Harrisburg University does not subscribe to the item you need.

Open Access Resources
Some academic material is available for free. Here are examples of the many resources you can try:

  • Directory of Open Access Books - Free, peer reviewed, scholarly books.
  • Directory of Open Access Journals - Free, peer reviewed scientific and scholarly journals.
  • HathiTrust - Free digital books and articles, mostly historical.
  • Internet Archive - Includes free digital books.
  • JSTOR - A premier academic repository of journals. Harrisburg University subscribes to a limited set of JSTOR's offerings, and additionally, JSTOR allows a limited number of free article downloads per month with registration.

InterLibrary Loan

If the Harrisburg University Library does not have access to the article you want, you may request it using Interlibrary Loan Services, assuming that copyright allows for the material to be reproduced and shared legally.
