Shift Checklist

Complete the following during your shift:

Clock In and Out

Always begin and end your shift with clocking in/out of ADP.

Instructions for recording your hours can be found at How to Log Hours in ADP.

If you need to make corrections to your time entries, contact the University Librarian at cbombaro@harrisburgu.edu.

Collect Used Materials

As you walk through the Library, collect any material that has been used and left on tables and do the following:

  • Remove bookmarks, sticky notes, etc.
  • For games, check that game pieces, cards, and instructions are stowed neatly and that no components are missing.
  • Check books for damage including torn pages, highlighting, broken binding.

If the items are undamaged and intact, place them on the reshelving cart outside the librarian's offices.

If an item is damaged, complete a damage report (print if there are no copies at your workstation) and leave it on the reshelving cart tucked inside or clipped to the damaged item. Notify your supervisor that the item is there for repair or replacement.

Study Room Calendar

Post the Study Room Calendar for the week if rooms have been reserved and no calendar is on the door.

  • A Study Room Reservation Notice will be available at your workstation. If you run out, you can print one or handwrite it on a piece of scrap paper.
  • Complete the form by including:
    • The ending room number (4 or 5)
    • Circle or highlight any days with reservations
    • Write in the date, e.g. Jan. 29 or July 22
    • Write the time of the reservation and circle or highlight AM or PM as appropriate
  • Tape the form to the door or door frame. DO NOT USE TAPE ON PAINTED WALLS.
