Company Profiles

Company profiles provide the history of a business, including its mission, products/services, leadership, financial outlook, achievements, employee demographics, and competitor analysis. Detailed company profiles for private companies usually require a subscription to a service that gathers and provides the information, while profiles for publicly traded companies may be available for free.

Using Business Source Complete to Find Company Profiles
Business Source Complete, a subscription based resource from EBSCOhost, provides access to over 1 million company profiles, sourced from MarketLine and Medtrack. These profiles offer detailed information on both public and private companies, including company overviews, competitor analysis, product information, and SWOT analyses (for larger companies). To access company profiles on Business Source Complete, follow these instructions:

  • Access Business Source Complete from the link above or the Library's A-Z Databases page. For more information on selecting databases, see the Advanced Research guide.
  • Type the company's name in the search bard and change the Source Type drop-down menu to Company Profiles. Note that you can also use this drop-down menu to limit your search by SWOT analyses, market research reports, and more.

  • If the company you selected has existed for many years and numerous reports are returned, you can limit the results to more recent years by changing the All Time drop-down; and by changing the order of the results by newest first or oldest first by changing the Relevance drop-down.
