This guide will help you access library material that requires extra log on information.

Google Scholar

Following these instructions will connect your Google Scholar account to Harrisburg University Library's resources, thus providing available full-text of research material provided to you by the Harrisburg University Library through our paid subscriptions with no extra searching and no paywall.

Although Google Scholar is a convenient tool, you should always research using Harrisburg University Library's Databases. If you rely solely on Google Scholar, you may miss important resources (especially recently published items), or be asked to pay for material that you could get for free through Harrisburg University, and have fewer options for refining your search.

To add Harrisburg University Library links, do the folowing:

 

  • Go to Google Scholar
  • Log on or create an account if you do not have one. 
  • Once you are logged in, click the Menu Bar
  • Click Settings

Next, add Harrisburg University Library:

  • Click Library Links.
  • Type "Harrisburg University" in the search box and click the search button or press Enter.
  • Check the boxes next to "Open WorldCat," "Harrisburg University...Full Text," and "Harrisburg University...ViewIt" and then click Save.

When you are signed on to Google and perform a search, Harrisburg University Library links should appear. Click on those links for direct access to the content through the Harrisburg University Library.
