    Online full-text version of the McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology. Each encyclopedia article ends with a bibliography that lists books and articles you can use for more information.

    Searching these databases will lead to many articles from peer-reviewed journals that are not available on the free Internet.  Many of them will link you to full-text articles in the database, but remember: The University Librarian can get a copy of almost any article or book that you need.

      Magazine, journal, and newspaper articles in all subject areas. Full text for many articles.
    • ACS Web Editions
      Peer-reviewed journals published by the American Chemical Society. Full text.
    • ScienceDirect
      Peer-reviewed journal articles in the physical and life sciences, engineering, and business.

    These databases are more subject-specific than the ones in the box above. Use these databases to search for biotechnology-related information in the literature of fields such as medicine, environmental studies, business, agriculture, and other fields.

      Complete digitized archives of core scholarly journals in scientific disciplines such as botany, aquatic sciences, cell biology, and ecology. Use this database if you need to find historic (pre mid-1990s) information in the sciences.

      The world's most comprehensive index of information in medicine, plus nursing, dentistry, and veterinary medicine. Use if your search is related to biotechnology and health/medicine.
